There is a 1/2 inch staple mark thru pages 183 to the rear cover, perhaps for mailing or distribution? Binding is solid.

Original 1/4 leather with printed boards, well worn with nicks and scrapes at edges, boards well rubbed. Rear hinge almost gone. Top inch of spine gone. 354 pp., lacking front end paper. Foxing and staining, fairly heavy in places. Small hole throughout at top near spine, likely from a string fed through at some point. A rare pre-Civil War Kentucky directory, with 100 pages of business directory listings and ads at the back. The ads and occupational listings include some very early daguerrotypists.
