Bueno). Un grand classique de médecine. Ce traité de médecine fut très populaire. Publié pour la première fois en 1679, il connut de nombreuses éditions, qui ne furent toutefois pas tirées à beaucoup d'exemplaires, et fut longtemps utilisé. L'ouvrage traite des maladies, de la chirurgie et donne de nombreuses recettes pour toutes sortes de remèdes. Il comprend en outre d'intéressantes descriptions d'instruments, d'instructions sur les injections, techniques de fabrication de pansements, etc. On connaît peu de choses sur son auteur. Jérôme Tenque fut reçu docteur à Montpellier en 1662 et devint professeur de la faculté de médecine de l'Université de Montpellier comme médecin royal en 1667. Il décéda en 1687. Il rédigea plusieurs traités de médecine qui demeurèrent longtemps prisés. Ex-dono manuscrit du célèbre médecin et biologiste Luis del Rio au laboratoire de Thérapeutique de Madrid en 1890. Luis del Rio y Lara (Brihuega, 1855-Brihuega, 1939) naquit dans une famille riche. En 1871, il commença ses études de médecine à Madrid. Diplômé en 1876, il occupa brièvement un poste à l'Hôpital de la Princesa de Madrid avant de partir exercer comme médecin dans sa ville natale de Brihuega de 1876 à 1886. Inscrit à Madrid aux diplômes de doctorat, il obtint en 1887 de brillants résultats, notamment en chimie biologique, et se vit offrir les postes d'assistant honoraire à la Faculté de Pharmacie et au Laboratoire d'histologie et de pathologie de la Faculté de médecine de Madrid. En 1892, il remporte sur concours la chaire d'histologie et d'anatomie pathologique de la faculté de médecine de Saragosse. Il y crée un important laboratoire dans lequel il fut le pionnier de la recherche et de l'enseignement de la chimie biologique et microbiologique. Il présenta les résultats de ses nombreux travaux dans différentes conférences nationales et internationales. En 1923, il prit possession de la chaire d'histologie et d'anatomie pathologique de la Faculté de médecine de Madrid. Ses publications les plus importantes sont: Éléments de microbiologie à l'usage des étudiants en médecine et en médecine vétérinaire (Saragosse, La Derecha, 1898), Cellules géantes (Saragosse, La Derecha, 1899), Les premiers cas d'actinomycose étudiés en Espagne (Saragosse, Vda. De Ariño, 1900), Manuel d'anatomie pathologique générale. Embaumement, autopsies (Saragosse, Heraldo, 1923), Manuel de technique micrographique, histochimie, cytologie (Saragosse, Heraldo, 1923) et Manuel d'histologie normale (Saragosse, Heraldo, 1924).
