Questo libro, che vuole essere una sorta di catalogo della mostra allestita a Palazzo Chigi ad Ariccia, si concentra sull'opera di Smuglewicz (detto Francesco Polacco) sulla Domus Aurea e sulle tombe etrusche di Tarqui-nia, ma vuole riferirsi in parte anche alle opere dei polacchi sopramenzionati, nonché ad alcuni importanti italiani dell'epoca, tra cui, il principe Sigismondo Chigi, i due Visconti e Carlo Antonini.
