The fourth edition of this very scarce work in a full calf binding. Publii Virgilii Maronis Opera: Ad Lectiones Probatiores Diligenter Emendata, et Interpunctione Nova Saepius Illustrata or The Works of Publius Virgilius Maronis: Diligently Amended for More Probative Readings, and Often Illustrated with New Punctuation. This edition of the collection of the poetry of Publius Vergilius Maro, more widely known as Virgil, was edited by John Hunter with amendments and new punctuation. This work contains Virgil's most famous works, written in Latin: the Eclogues, the Georgics, and the epic Aeneid, with twenty pages of notes written in English to the rear. In a full calf binding. Externally, the front board is detached, with rubbing to both boards and the spine. Small losses to the head and tail of the spine. Horizontal tear to the tail of the spine, causing the leather to lift. Pages 89 to 92 are coming loose; otherwise, internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, except for small ink inscriptions to the paste downs. Small loss to the fore edge. Good Only. book.
