I neared the group, trying to figure ou t what had attracted them. Suddenly I saw it. There was a dead body in the canal . It wasn't the first time I had seen something like this. Today it was a prosti tute. Another time it had been a junkie. Apparently the prostitute had gotten in to a fight and been thrown into the canal. --- Steiger means pier in Dutch. Ou r name comes from the address of the barge behind Central Station in Amsterdam, Holland - Steiger 14 - where Steiger International first began.
