Theologe Jodocus Lorichius (1540-1612) studierte Theologie in Freiburg und erhielt 1575 den dortigen Lehrstuhl für Theologie. Universitätspolitisch trat er durch die Neubearbeitung der Statuten der Theologischen Fakultät (1578 und 1586), durch die Neuformulierung der Aufgaben eines Rektors der Universität 1580 und die Herausgabe der allgemeinen Universitätsstatuten 1581 bzw. 1583 hervor. Ebenso ordnete er das Universitätsarchiv. Verdienste erwarb er sich auch durch seine Bemühungen um die Freiburger Privatkollegien, besonders des Collegium Pacis. 21 mal war er Dekan der Theologischen Fakultät und 9 mal Rektor der Universität" (BBKL V, 234ff.). Er war der bedeutendste Vertreter der Freiburger theologischen Fakultät in der zweiten Hälfte des 16.
