Joendl, Johann Philipp (Architekt und Schriftsteller), geb. in Prag am 3.11.1782, wurde gleich nach seinem Baustudium von dem Bauherren zur Mitwirkung bei der Errichtung des Jagdschlosses zu Bubenč angestellt. Hier lernte er den Grafen Rudolph von Chotek, Oberstburggraf von Böhmen, kennen, in dessen Dienst er zur Errichtung vieler der großartigsten Guts- und Schlossbauten in den östlichen Ländern Europas des 18. Jh. Bauten als Architekt trat. Anfangs lebte Joendl in Neuhof, wo Schloß Katschina erbaut wurde, später in Beibehaltung seiner Stellung in Prag, wo sich sein Wirkungskreis bedeutend erweiterte. Mit seinen Arbeiten wuchs sein Ruf, und viele adelige Häuser in Böhmen und Mähren, z.B. der Graf Desfours, Franz Fürst Dietrichstein, Heinrich Graf Chotek, Fürst Colloredo-Mannsfeld, Graf Wratislaw-Mitrowitz, Johann Graf Kolowrat, Fürst Clary-Aldringen, Graf Schlik, Graf Waldstein-Wartenberg übertrugen ihm die Leitung ihrer Bauvorhaben.
