First Edition. 8vo.; in a 19th century binding of burgundy straight-grained morocco, with a decorative roll in blind to the perimeter of the boards and with all edges gilt; dentelle turn-ins; with rear board reattached; spine with raised bands and lettered in gilt; [186] pages followed by the colophon "Prynted in Zurych";with some annotations in an early hand, with manicules; the title leaf has been trimmed to the title, and is inlaid in what appears to be an original blank leaf.~~Hooper was the Anglican Bishop of Gloucester. A Protestant reformer, he was executed for heresy by burning during the reign of Queen Mary I.~~ (ESTC S104201 STC 13745). Very Good binding.
