Durch sein Interesse z…ur Frage über die Entstehung der sog. Schneeblindheit und damit zum Studium der pathogenen Einwirkung des Lichts auf das Auge und die Haut konnte er nachweisen, dass sowohl die Schneeblindheit und elektrische Ophthalmie, wie auch das Sonnen-Erythem und das elektrische Haut-Erythem auf einer direkten Einwirkung der ultravioletten Strahlen des Lichtes beruhen. Ferner sind unter den 18 zwischen 1883 und 1891 entstandenen Arbeiten, seine Inauguraldissertation von 1883 "Die Jequirity-Ophthalmie" und mehrere Arbeiten über bakteriologische Studien über Dakryocystitis, über Einfluß des Lichtes auf die Haut und über Augensymptome bei peripheren Trigeminus Affektionen enthalten. - cf.
