Hard Cover. First Edition. First Edition. Square with sharp corners, tight binding and hinges, clean and bright pages. Cloth over boards has light overall shelf wear. Book examines the record of the Supreme Court in the period from Reconstruction (1860s) to the "Roosevelt Court" (1937). Chapters: individual rights in a federal system, the scope of constitutionally protected rights, the dilemma of race, the criminal defendant, the Old Court and individual rights reappraised. Notes, bibliography, index. Contributions in Legal Studies; 41; 9.5" (24 cm) tall; 216 pages. Very Good in No Dust Jacket dust jacket.
