Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. A Modern Plutarch. John Cournos. [1928] first printing; Thornton; very good or better jacketed vintage hardcover. In the style of Plutarch, Cournos discusses and links some more modern "celebrities" Twain, Melville, Bolivar, Robert E. Lee, George Eliot, and the like. Quite a handsome red cloth hardcover with crisp black text on spine and front board. Very light handling wear with typical toning. A very light ownership mark. Jacket is good, housed in archival cover.
