Provenance: Smithsonian Institution Deposit Copy (with their oval stamp on the title page), then to the Library of Congress (with their surplus/duplicate stamp on the back of the front cover, bleeding through onto the front by just as little. This was Bruns'(1836-1883) dissertation (at age 21). After the war he became professor of Physiology and Pathology at the Medical School of New Orleans, where he lived his career.…
