Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First. Sir John Gielgudblends memories of his own performances and productions with critical comment and anecdote in his personal overview of the theater, its characters and its works. This copy appears to have been owned by the actor David Tomlinson, with his signature at the top of the ffep. This copy is very good in gray cloth. It would be near fine but for the unfortunate adhesive residue of cellophane tape used on the plastic protective cover for the dust jacket. (See photos). Fortunately this is limited to the endpapers, and the rest of the book is very clean and undamaged. The dust jacket is very good with just the same issue. David Tomlinson (1917 2000) was an English stage, film and television actor, singer and comedian. Having been described as both a leading man and a character actor, he is primarily remembered for his roles with The Walt Disney Company as authoritarian father figure George Banks in Mary Poppins, fraudulent magician Professor Emelius Browne in Bedknobs and Broomsticks and as hapless antagonist Peter Thorndyke in The Love Bug. Tomlinson was posthumously inducted as a Disney Legend in 2002. . FO25.
