hardcover. Condition: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that… encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Very Good +. First edition. Near Fine in Very Good+ Glossy Pictorial Dust Jacket with original price ($29.95). This copy was formerly in the library of Christopher Wheeldon, and is inscribed on the free front endpaper: "To deear John and John, Thanks you for giving me such a wonderful home away f…rom home here in San Francisco. having such a lovely place to stay has made my trip all the more worthwhile. I feel blessed to have been welcomed into your home. With sincere thanks Christopher Wheeldon". Wheeldon ( b. 1973) is a renowned international choreographer of contemporary ballet. In 1991, he joined the Royal Ballet, London; and in that same year, he won the Gold Medal at the Prix de Lausanne competition. In 1993, he joined the New York City Ballet and was was named Soloist in 1998. Wheeldon began choreographing for the New York City Ballet in 1997, while continuing his career as a dancer. He retired as a dancer in 2000 in order to focus on his choreography. In 2001, Wheeldon became the New York City Ballet resident choreographer and first resident artist. He was productive in this position, choreographing a number of much lauded works for the troupe. He quickly developed a reputation as a talented choreographer, and several other eminent ballet companies, such as the San Francisco Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet, and the Royal Ballet, London have commissioned dances from him. As of May, 2003, Wheeldon had composed at least 23 works. This book is a collection of traditional ghost and fairy stories haunted by stunning land- and seascape images of their rural Irish origins. Rooted in the oral storytelling tradition of rural Ireland, the twenty-three Irish ghost and fairy stories that make up At the Edge of the World are mythic and awe-inspiring. Accompanied by forty contemporary photographs that capture the beauty and power of the landscape, the stories recount the stirring sagas of courage and bravery, the magical tales and supernatural legends of ghosts and demons that have enchanted Irish listeners for centuries. Grey paper over boards with black cloth backstrip and silver titling on spine. Dust Jacket shows mild shelf wear. Interior is clean, crisp, tight & bright, other than as noted unmarked. xxi, 172 [3] pp.] Approx. 8.75" x 11.25". A very nice copy. Carefully shipped in secure parcel.
