THIS IS No. 25. With a 2 page letter written by a young boy of 16 in 1918 asking Mr. Masefield for his autograph as he collects autographs of "distinguished men and women" and has autographs of Kipling, Galsworthy, and others. He also makes note that he will enclose one dollar for his relief fund. This letter is tipped in to the last page after the signed limitation page. Is it possible that Masefield forgot to return his request and finally remembered in 1937 or, since this was one of the first 25 copies, did Masefield send this as a special gift after a possible long friendship? 12pp., bound in 1/4 blue cloth over gray boards lettered in gilt, in chipped glassine wrapper.
