Soft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First edition oblong softcover, saddle-stapled in stiff wraps. Unpaginated with black and white photographic illustrations. Internally unmarked and well bound. Front cover with long water-droplet stains by fore-edge. Heavy bend to bottom forecorner to pages and covers. Mild rubbing/shelf…wear besides. Published to coincide with a travelling exhibition by the same name, first at Snug Harbor Cultural Center, curated by then-head of the Jewelry and Metalsmithing Department at Rhode Island School of Design Louis Mueller. Organized around the concept of "virgin", Mueller invited 25 artists to design one piece in response to the theme of something "unexplored, fresh, concise, and absolute". Many resulting pieces interrogate the definition of jewelry itself. Includes work by Giampaolo Babetto, Manfred Bischoff, Onno Boekhoudt, Gabriele Dziuba, Annette Ferdinandsen, Warwick Freeman, There Hilbert, Daniel Kruger, Otto Künzli, Falko Marx, Manfred Nisslmüller, Francesco Pavan, John Prip, Robin Quigley, Leslie Quint, Gerd Rothmann, Philip Sajet, Bernhard Schobinger, Joyce Scott, Barbara Seidenath, Sandra Sherman, Peter Skubic, Detlef Thomas, Johan van Aswegen, and Martina Windels. Hard to find in good condition.
