    Paper. Condition: Good. First Edition. An Original Handwritten and Signed Letter by British Portrait Painter John Robert Dicksee. Dated 1869. A letter addressed 27 Howland Road, Fitzroy Square London to a Miss Augusta Paterson dated 24th April 1869 stating that he was happy the hear that Miss Paterson was pleased with the photo and that future exchange of artistic offers in brocade or point lace would be very acceptable. DICKSEE John Robert 1817-1905 was a portrait artist and painter of genre subjects, elder brother of the artist Thomas Francis Dicksee, and father of Herbert Dicksee. John was the first curator of works of art for the Corporation of the City of London (later the Guildhall Art Gallery). He wrote a book on perspective in art "The School Perspective". Size is 178mm x 115mm. Condition is good. Light folding crease. Gum residue to rear of letter. Light age toning. Ref19257. Signed by Author(s).
