Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book examines a divide that arose within the Christian world - the differences between the beliefs of English Catholics and Roman Catholics. The author, himself an English Catholic, provides a detailed account of the history, doctrines, and practices of both branches of Catholicis…m, highlighting the key areas where they diverge. He emphasizes the importance of understanding these differences for Protestants, who often misunderstand the nuances between the two and may be misled by the belief that the two churches hold largely similar views. The book offers a valuable resource for readers interested in gaining a deeper knowledge of the history of Christianity and the complexities of religious thought and practice. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a sermon delivered by the author, a minister in the Church of England. The author begins by explaining that the Bible teaches us to avoid those who cause divisions and offenses in the church. This book provides valuable insights into the nature of the church and the importance of unity among Christians. It is a must-read for anyone interested in learning more about the Christian faith. Add to basketHardcover. Condition: VG+. Dust Jacket Condition: VG. Reprint. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith remains Australia's leading pioneer aviator and on many of his long-distance, record breaking, over-ocean flights the author was his radio operator and also carried the role of personal secretary to Sir Charles. This account of "Smithy"( t…he name by which he was popularly known) and his aviation feats begins with his service with the Royal Flying Corps as a fighter pilot in WWI. Then follows the sequence of his trail blazing flights, including first across the Pacific (US to Australia), first from Australia to New Zealand (a subsequent flight was laced with drama and danger), round the world in 1930 and many records. He was also a pioneer of commercial aviation in Australia, but the challenge of long-distance record setting was intense and "Smithy" and his co-pilot/engineer set out on an attemt to set a new record from England to Australia in 1935. They were lost somwhere near Burma, the aircraft or its occupants were never found. John Stannage tells the story of his friend and skipper in a chatty and relaxed style which reveals much about the personality of the great aviator. First published in 1950 with this first reprint in 1951. 120 pages including appendix chronologically listing "Smithy's" most notable achievements, 11 b/w photos including frontis portrait, three maps. Blue hard covers VG+ with red spine titles, dealer label lower left FFEP, internally excellent, no inscriptions. Pictoria/art DJ is VG with small section missing spine base, short tear at lower front flap fold, few chips, not price clipped. Photos, Maps (illustrator).
