Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. (1888). Cracking to the inner hinge in three places, minor edge wear, else very good plus in dark green pictorial cloth, titles stamped in gold. Issued in various colors of cloth (no priority established). 46 pages of elegantly reproduced half-tones of photographs by Fiske, C.E. Matthews, Taber, H.C. Tibbets, E.C. Watkins and others not identified. The photo-views, of natural settings and urban scenes--from Yosemite Valley to San Francisco's Chinatown, are smartly arrayed, often two or more to a page, against delicate floral framing devices. Superb quality reproduction by Forbes Co. of Boston. [12] pages of text.
