The first New Mexico film came about when Thomas Edison's company created a movie called Indian Day School. Soon afterwards D.W. Griffith was in Albuquerque with his American Biograph Company and soon to be star actress Mary Pickford. Tom Mix began his career in Las Vegas New Mexico with the Selig Polyscope Company and produced dozens of Westerns. Tom Mix was the director as well as the star. This book describes the Silents, Westerns, Science Fiction films, and other genres.
