Stiff boards. Condition: Good. Unpaginated (approximately 50 pages on uncut leaves). Illustrated. Bookplate of Lillian and Stanley Posner on fep. Inscribed to Stanley Posner by author on limited edition number page. Small edge tears to several pages. Cover has some wear and soiling. This is believed to be the same Jonas H. Mayer who was a vice-president of American Linen Supply Company. The author's Dedication states, in part, "Through this book of poems, I want to share the experiences of my earlier life with those who know only of my later years. I traveled widely throughout my life, visiting almost every country in the world. The highlights of my travels, and events that made a great impression on me, have been retained--their memories kept fresh--by writing of them in verse." There is narrative as well as poetry in this work. This copy is somewhat associated with the Posner-Wallace Foundation since the Foundation was formed in 1957 as the Lillian and Stanley Posner Foundation in Washington, DC. Following the death of Stanley Posner in 1965, the first and second generation family trustees continued to operate the Foundation. Lillian Kahn Posner married Irving Wallace, who became a first generation trustee. In 1986, the foundation changed its name to become the Posner-Wallace Foundation. Currently, the Foundation board is comprised of second and third generation trustees. The Foundation concentrates its efforts in cities where family trustees reside, as well as selected charities that operate throughout the United States, and internationally. In addition to conventional grants, the Foundation allocates approximately 20% of its endowment to "impact investment" loans. Privately Printed Limited Edition of 500 Copies, of which this is Copy Number 153.
