Contemporary binding is sound and hinges secure with spine lacking a half inch of leather at foot. One blank endpaper at front followed by half-title and title page; three blanks at rear. Leaves up to page 1 and from page 425 to end considerably foxed and up to xvii with stain to upper margin; pages 178-183 stained and creased. No inscriptions.

half leather. Condition: Good. 27, 298, [1] pages. Contemporary leather over marbled paper boards considerably rubbed, with some loss of leather along spine; front board nearly detached. Dampstain to first few and final few leaves; tideline up to page 9 of the Appendicies. Moses Shaw's copy, with his signature in pencil at front and rear, the latter dated 1862. Shaw "represented Annapolis township from 1859 to 1859 and Annapolis County from 1859 to 1863 as a Liberal-Conservative and then a Reformer" (Wikipedia). More recent Restoration Society plate to front pastedown, and library numbers to rear pastedown. The volume consists of two sections, each with a title page: Report of the secretary of the Board of statistics [27 pages], and the Appendicies [298 pages], with the errata leaf at rear.
