Con dedicatoria firmada por el autor.- Es justo preguntarse por qué el autor postula la urgencia de sus cuentos. La respuesta inmediata es que los escribió apremiado por una necesidad testimonial que no admitía demora, en tal…caso la urgencia comenzaría y concluiría en su propio ámbito interior. Es posible otra respuesta. Los temas más frecuentes de la obra los aportan el amor y la muerte. El amor pasional y erótico que gira y se destroza en el vértigo que le imprime su intensidad; el artero, que no repara en medios con tal de capturar el objeto apetecible; el que, cobardemente, no se atreve a surgir de su embrión, y así se extingue miserablemente. Unida al amor se encuentra la muerte. Definitiva, insondable, que aguarda o sorprende al hombre para conducirlo hacia una misteriosa consumación que, secretamente, lo aterra. Por ello, probablemente, estos cuentos se proclaman urgentes. Urgente es el amor: a todos nos solicita, de una u otra manera, a lo largo de la vida. Terriblemente urgente es la muerte que nace y crece junto a la existencia y, finalmente se apodera de ella. Puede que la piedad que une al agonizante con quien lo vela sea, como algunas de las páginas del libro insinúan, la forma suprema del amor y, parejamente, la forma suprema de la muerte. Estos cuentos también contienen otras propuestas: la de asomarse a las tramas caprichosas que suele asumir la vanidad; la de recorrer los sorprendentes vericuetos del corazón de un niño. Todo está unido: la dicha y el sufrimiento; la angustia y la serenidad; la muerte y el amor. Son las ofrendas contradictorias que contiene la vida. Más allá de la incertidumbre, usando de la alegría, o apelando al coraje, corresponde al hombre asumirlas. Tal parecería ser lo que nos quiere decir este escritor "urgente". Firmada por el autor.
