Gene Damon was the pseudonym of Barbara Grier who was a member of Daughters of Bilitis and a contributor to their magazine "The Ladder" She also compiled her columns in that magazine into the bibliography "The Lesbian in Literature" an invaluable reference work on the order of Ian Young's "The Male Homosexual in Literature".
