Une facture lisse et des eaux étales, un bleu impeccable dans des ciels limpides, une discrète géométrie dans ses compositions, l'honnêteté dans le rendu des formes du monde, voilà un peintre classique dans toute l'acceptation du terme, voilà aussi l'image d'un Midi paisible et comme attaché au cours tempétueux de l'histoire.
