The History of the Church (originally entitled History of Joseph Smith; first published under the title History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), is semi-official history of the early Latter Day Saint movement during the lifetime of founder, Vermont-born Joseph Smith (1805 - 1844). Largely composed of Smith's writings. Written between 1839 and 1856, this edition carries extensive annotations and edits by B. H. Roberts. Fine first 4 volumes of a 7-volume series beginning in 1902.
