[light shelfwear to book, a little dust-soiling to top edge; the jacket shows minor wear at edges and extremities, a couple of tiny nicks at the top edge of the rear panel, a couple of tiny closed tears at the top edge of the front panel, and some light age-toning to the rear panel]. INSCRIBED and SIGNED on the front endpaper by the author-poet, who has also written three lines of verse (presumably his own) beneath his inscription. In addition to his poetry, Hagedorn (1882-1964) was a close friend of Theodore Roosevelt, and wrote several books about him and his family, in addition to serving as Secretary and Director of the Theodore Roosevelt Association from 1919 to 1957.
