Er trug mir deshalb auf, Sie zu ersuchen später, u zwar wenn möglich Ende October hieher zu kommen, u zwar vorzüglich aus dem Grunde, weil S. Durchlauchth der Herzog ihm erst heute angezeigt habe, daß er von 7ten Octbr nach Blankenburg auf die Jagd gehe, u am 28ten Octbr erst wieder hieher zurückkehre []". - Ausschnitt am linken unteren Rand (ohne Textverlust). Gefaltet. - Cornet studierte Rechtswissenschaften, wandte sich jedoch bald der Musik zu und wurde von Antonio Salieri in Wien ausgebildet. 1817 debütierte er an der Hofoper in Wien, trat 1818 ein Engagement in Graz an und war seit 1820 Ensemblemitglied des Hoftheaters in Braunschweig. 1841-47 war Cornet als Sänger und Direktor am Stadttheater Hamburg tätig und trat dort zusammen mit seiner Frau für die 1848 erfolgte Gründung des Hamburger Konservatoriums ein. 1853-58 Direktor der Wiener Hofoper, leitete er dann noch zwei Jahre das Viktoriatheater in Berlin.
