Es ist das Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchung, Grundidee und -struktur der Naturphilosophie Schellings zu analysieren und die Überwindungsmöglichkeit der ökologischen Krise im Ausgang seiner Naturphilosophie zu finden. Young-Jun Cho setzt sich mit der Kernfrage auseinander, welche Bedeutung Schellings Naturphilosophie für die Überwindung dieser Krise hat. Er versucht zu zeigen: Indem Schelling die Natur als ein eigenes Subjekt und damit Natur sowie Mensch als nur verschiedene Stufen (unbewusst - bewusst) einer Tätigkeit ansieht, eröffnet er uns eine neue Möglichkeit, das gegensätzliche Verhältnis des Menschen zur Natur aufzuheben. Deshalb wird Schellings Naturphilosophie im Sinne eines Rezeptes gegen die ökologische Krise als der Versuch der Begründung eines anderen Naturbegriffs und einer neuen Natur-Ethik interpretiert.
