Hardcover. Condition: Good. Hardcover. Full leather. Front cover detached but present. 378 pages + approx 100 page index. Title page printed in red and black. Frontispiece engraving. Text in Latin. Text block tight and complete. Some discoloration and foxing to the pages, but never very bad. Name on the front endpaper, "Robt Goldsborough jun. his book. January 21, Anno Domini 1752." Ancient history in the original Latin. It's not entirely clear which Robert Goldsborough signed his name in this book. There were two Robert Goldsborough's at Myrtle Grove in 1752. Robert of Myrtle Grove was 50 when the name was written. His nephew Robert was 19. It seems more likely that it was this younger Robert who wrote in the book. This is the Robert who served on the Continental Congress. We have more than 2 dozen books from the Goldsborough family, dating back to the late 1600's on the eastern shore of Maryland. Please email if you'd like to see the whole list.
