Uvarov. 241 pp. Mikhail Dmitrievich Karateev (1904-1978) is the author of historical novels, best known for the Pentateuch cycle "Rus and the Horde". The novels included in the cycle are separate independent works. This book is the fourth novel in the series, the first lifetime edition. A rare book, like all Russian publications in South America. In Russia during Soviet times, the works of M. Karateev were not published; the publication of his books began in the 1990s.

Mikhail Dmitrievich Karateev (Prince Karachevskiy, 1904-1978) fought for the White Russians as a teenager, and left Russia with General Wrangel in 1920. He received some military education in Bulgaria but later trained as a chemical engineer in Belgium. He ultimately settled in Uruguay where he wrote historical novels (early Russia, 13th-15th centuries) and emigre stories. Count (also Professor) V. V. Ulanov was his neighbor in Uruguay, and illustrated a number of his books.
