A fine copy in a fine jacket (but for short closed tear on rear cover and light sunning on top edge of flaps and spine, both as pictured). A clean copy with price ($5.50) intact on front flap. Comes with archival-quality jacket protector. Although not marked in any such way, this book came from the library of poet and literary critic J.D. McClatchy, from his estate in Stonington, Connecticut. Beautifully illustrated by Kuzmin, and translated from the Russian by Kayden.

Published by The Antioch Press, Ohio in 1965, her is the first hardback printing of Mikhail Lermontov's THE DEMON and Other Poems translated from the Russian by Eugene M. Kayden and containing and introduction by Sir Maurice Bowra. Blue cloth covered boards, black cloth binding, gilt spine lettering, 197 pages, the book is in good condition with some light fading and bumping to the edges of the boards. There are also some general pencil annotations all the way throughout the book. The dust jacket is very with some light browning to the edges and spine plus some light creasing. All in all a decent offering.
