Trade Paperback. First Edition. 22 numbered, loose pages, on buff 11 x 8.5 inch paper, with purple cover sheet. Includes excerpts from works in progress of three authors, including Meltzer. The Text was published bimonthly for a couple of years. Meltzer says of his contribution: 'What started out as a critique of the Whitney Mus…eum exhibition of postwar U.S. arts & a snarl against postwar anti-materialism being commodified into shiny mythologems wrapped up like candybars for the historically challenged gobblers of fast-food history, skidded into an ongoing & infinitely more complicated reclamation of 1945-65 &, in turn, it opened into testimony & contentious autobiography. The two long excerpts came from the beginning of the work, while the two that close this selection reflect a turn from polemic into deeper intentionality & reflecting not only the kaleidoscopic montage I was able to absorb as a kid growing up in the time-zone but a dialogue with what I've subsequently learned through doing research on the project. It's a work that won't quit & at the moment hits the scales at 400 pages.' Beat Thing eventually was published at 154 pages in 2004. First edition (first printing). A fine copy.

Softcover. Condition: Fine. First. Author: Jafrate, Keith Publisher: Rivelin Press Description: First Edition One of 26 specials, made as part of a limited edition run of 500. Signed and lettered, this being letter E. The Rivelin Press was established in 1974 by Kevin Borman and David Tipton. Initially publishing Poets with a Yo…rkshire connection, this was not part of the original criteria set (Rivelin being a river in the Sheffield area) and between 1974 and 2010, the Press went on to publish over 139 Poets both nationally and Internationally (specifically Latin American Poets) In 1984 the Press was taken over by Snowden Barnett, whilst David Tipton continued to publish his fiction list under his imprint The Redbeck Press. In 2010, Snowden Barnett published his book The Rivelin Retrospective. The book contains a bibliography of the first 74 publications ( series 1,2 and 3) and three titles from Series 4 2006. These publications are testament to Rivelin Grapheme Press as an Independent Publishing House. Many went on to become established Poets in the UK, and indeed, worldwide. These books are now highly sought after, particularly signed and lettered editions. Condition: Fine. Paperback original. Size: 210 x 150 mm. Yes.
