Keith was the son of Percy MacKaye. Percy MacKaye was a playwright, poet, and educator of the first half of the 20th century. He was an. integral part of the Cornish Arts Colony in New Hampshire, which. coalesced around the sculptor Augustus St. Gaudens at the turn of the. century. Other 'names' who spent time there include dancer Isadora Duncan, actresses Ethel Barrymore and Marie Dressler, even the editor Max. Perkins. One of his plays produced there included two of Woodrow Wilson's. daughters, with Wilson in attendance. He had several talented children, and was the son of the 19th century actor Steele MacKaye, and the brother. of conservationist Benton MacKaye, who was instrumental in the inception. of the Appalachian Trail.

Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'Honey Holler' is a poignant American folk play written by Keith Mackaye that captures the spirit and struggles of life in the Appalachian mountains. Set against a backdrop of rugged landscapes and deep-rooted traditions, the work explores the intricate social dynamics and cultural superstitions of a rural community. Through its evocative dialogue and vivid characterizations, the play offers an authentic glimpse into the vernacular and folklore of a region often isolated from the rapid changes of the early 20th century.
