Soft cover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Werner Kelbe's work "Ueber das Metaisocymol" from 1881 is a significant scientific study published in Justus Liebig s Annalen der Chemie. In this extensive study, spanning 62 pages, Kelbe focuses on the synthesis and characterization of Metaisocymol, a chemical compound that served as a precursor for the development of synthetic musk fragrances. Metaisocymol played an important role in the history of artificial nitro musks, which were developed in the late 19th century and widely used in the perfume industry. Kelbe's research significantly contributed to the understanding of the chemical properties and synthesis methods of these fragrance compounds. BOOK NOTES: 62 pp thesis in original wraps. Page 62 is torn and is absent left 1/3 of page. This title relevent to the synthesis of perfume's is virtually unobtainable today and this copy is, unfortunately, not in the best of condition as is illustrated in the attached photographs.
