Very good condition. The original publisher's green cloth boards are clean and sound, with light, even toning and modest handling wear consistent with careful library or academic use. The spine remains straight and firm, with clear, unfaded lettering; corners are gently softened, and there are a few small, unobtrusive rubs and pinpoint marks to the cloth. Internally, the binding is tight and secure. The pages are clean and bright, with no highlighting or marginalia observed. A faint, narrow discoloration line is visible near the gutter of the front free endpaper, likely from an old paper insert, but it does not affect text or structural integrity. Overall, a solid and presentable copy. Issued simultaneously as Journal of Homosexuality, Volume 8, Numbers 3/4. This important early academic collection brings together essays by Edmund White, Louis Crompton, Seymour Kleinberg, Inez Martinez, Richard Dellamora, and others, examining homosexuality as a literary, cultural, and historical construct from classical through modern literature. Includes bibliographical references and index. A significant volume in the development of LGBTQ literary criticism and queer studies, particularly scarce in this sturdy hardcover format.
