    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Ted Key (Illustrator) (illustrator). First Edition. Inscribed with a note from the author: "Dear Bill and Ann: The dog's bi, but the story's short. And sent to you with affection. Ted" Below the text is a handrawn sketch of a woman pointing to the title character, saying "He'll eat you out of house and home!" with the signature, Ted Key/ Feb 1, 1961. This clothbound book has moderate yellowing to the front/back covers, significant yellowing to spine though white title text is clearly legible, small tear to the top of spine along with a small nick to the upper/front spine gutter, small bump to the bottom of spine though this has no effect on binding, light corner wear, typical yellowing to pages associated with age.otherwise book is in very good condition! Pages are clean and bright with rich black and white illustrations, solid binding, and a decent spine. Dust jacket shows signs of wear, such as: moderate yellowing to front/back covers, about half an inch worn away from small nick to the upper/front spine gutter, a "Y" shaped tear from the bottom spine gutter extending outward to the spine and front cover, moderate wear to corners.otherwise dust jacket is in good condition with beautiful rich coloring to illustrations and author's photograph, and now protected in an archival cover to prevent any further wear.
