First Edition. xii, 99 pp.; tables, appendix, biblio, title gilt on spine, HARD BACK Binding in dust wrappers. Copy clean and in very good condition. The financial Problems the American University of Beirut had to meet for the past several years are no secret to anyone. Private universities everywhere have had to contend with enormous financial pressures "to make ends meet" and AUB was no exception. In this volume, Prof. Khalaf tries to identify and explain the factors that have contributed to this situation and suggest general guidelines for constructive change. The author analyses trends in expenditures and incomes of the University, projects those trends into the 1980's to estimate the future implications of the financial situation, compares AUB's future prospects with those of other universities and suggests general policy recommendations for growth and development the University will have to adopt if it is to survive the impending crisis, optimize the use of its resources and achieve its essential purpose in society and the region of tomorrow.
