The author of nine books, she is a regular contributor to Majesty magazine and was consultant on the Danish documentaries A Royal Family and The Royal Jewels. ; Senta Driver was a dancer, choreographer, and writer; she began studying dance in graduate school, and received her masters in dance from the Ohio State University in 1966. Following graduation, Driver joined the Paul Taylor Dance Company of New York City in 1967, which she danced with until 1973. In 1974, she founded her own dance company, HARRY, also based in New York City. Driver choreographed and danced with the company until 1991. At this time, she closed the company due to lack of funds, and trained as a neonatal ICU nurse. As of 2019, Driver is working on a book about her family's genealogical history. ; "In 1906 Queen Alexandra and her sister the Dowager Empress Marie Feodorovna of Russia purchased Hvidore, a villa on the Danish coast, a private home. Until 1914 the sisters visited the property every autumn, entertaining friends and many royal relatives in an informal atmosphere. It was indeed a royal retreat. The first world war put an end to those happy times but in 1919, no exiled from Russia, the Dowager Empress made the vila her home and Hvidore became a court in exile. In 1920 she was joined by her younger daughter Olga and her family, who all lived at Hvidore, not always happily, until the Empress's death in 1928. A Royal Retreat tells the story of the purchase, renovation, the many royal visitors and finally the sale of this forgotten royal home. Magnificent original illustrations [are] from a private collection." ; FINE. Book.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. A very good copy of the apparent first hard cover edition (no explicit edition or printing statement), lacking a dust-jacket. Previous owner's modest stamp to front endpaper, with "v. 54" written on the base of the spine (see scan), as to indicate placement in a private library. The text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the green cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine is bright and fresh in appearance. A bit of spotting to the page edge, margin side, of the volume: unobtrusive, and not visible as the pages are read. The paper of the rear endpaper at the gutter is minorly cracked, but the webbing below is intact, and the binding is in no way loose, nor is the rear board wobbly. All in all a lovely copy of this increasingly hard-to-find report.
