His father and his sons were also well-known magicians and his brother was journalist and anarchist Felix Hirschfeld. In his current book Kio wrote about the creative and complex work of illusionists, the history of the circus, and the art of the magic tricks. He also paid tribute to other world-famous names of magic, including Harry Houdini, Dante (Harry August Jansen), and others.
