"Sembra che in questo particolare momento, e non solo in Siria, così tanti dogmi storici stanno crollando o si trovano sull'orlo del collasso, nonostante la maggior parte dell'umanità rimanga tuttora ancorata a strutture religiose arcaiche". Su questa strada che unisce il nulla al non luogo Duncan tenta di ricostruire metaforicamente una realtà attuale riscrivendone le origini. La natura e l'isolamento sono fondamentali nel lavoro di Duncan e, malgrado la vita cittadina sia il contesto in cui l'opera continua a vivere oltre la propria creazione, la natura è l'ambiente in cui nasce.
