Hardcover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A Fine copy of the First Edition (Danish language) of this important writer in a very attractive contemporary binding: quarter maroon leather and striking marbled paper. Gilt title and rules to spine with blind impressed device. Plain end-papers with no inscription. 169, 8 in. x 6 in. pages; evenly toned, (almost) card pages. Two page, printer's illustrated book advertisement to rear.Top edge red. Stitched gatherings and overall an attractive, strong binding. Slight edge wear also to corner points. Korch's books for young women were known for their realistic portrayals of women and in 1949 she was voted Danish Booksellers' favourite author. Her breakthrough came in 1936 with 'After Winter comes Spring'; this novel, probably her fourth, was published in 1939. The main character is Bodil Lykke and the 'Lindegaarden' of the title is the name of an old manor house. A very attractive First Edition.20% price reduction applied.
