Datiert 16. 7. 1938 und 23. 7. 1938. Insgesamt 6 einseitig maschinengeschr. Seiten (DIN A 4). Papierbedingt etwas gebräunt, in der Mitte mit Falzspur, Abdruck einer Büroklammer am rechten oberen Eck. In den Briefen werden sehr detailliert die Übergriffe und "Demonstrationen" vor und im bischöflichen Amtssitz geschildert.

J.B. Sproll (1870 - 1949), ab 1927 Bischof der Diözese Rottenburg-Stuttgart, im Widerstand zum Regime des Nationalsozialismus. Seine Enthaltung bei der Volksabstimmung über den Anschluss Österreichs am 10. April 1938 führte zu einem Ermittlungsverfahren und zu von den Machthabern inszenierten Demonstrationen gegen ihn. Schließlich 1941 von Rom zum Rücktritt aufgefordert, verweigert er diesen und wird daraufhin nach Krumbach in ein Hausarrest verbracht, welches er erst 1945 wieder verlassen konnte.
