Art / Print / Poster Signed
No Binding. Condition: Fine. An original watercolor by French artist Andre Krafft (1911-1986). It is signed Krafft lower right in black ink and titled lower right "Paris Avenu de Friedland / l'Arc de Triumphe l'Etoile." The dimensions (live area) of the painting are 7 5/8 x 9 1/8 inches. It is protected by an acid-free mat and conservation clear glass (Tru Vue label affixed verso). It is held in a lovely period wood frame that is unrestored (outside dimensions 13 5/8 x 16 5/8 inches). It's a monochrome of a famous Paris scene for which the artist is known. It is impressionist in style and includes figures, automobiles and centers on one of the most famous landmarks of the City of Lights. The paper is uniformly tanned but otherwise undamaged. The French 20C painter Andre Krafft studied art in Paris and began exhibiting his art there in the 1930's. At the end of the Second World War (1945), Krafft concentrated almost exclusively on scenes of Paris and its environs, in both oil and watercolor. His Paris views demonstrate a fine sense of coloration combined with his unique, stylized representations of figure and form. Buyer will be asked to pay the actual cost of postage, and Canadian orders will be charged applicable taxes. Signed by Artist.
