Blue cloth boards with bright red lettering on spine and front board. Pictorial end papers. 161pp 8vo. A slight adventure story with a certain authenticity in the handling of adolescent adjustment, as a bespectacled city boy moves to a boatwise village by the sea, and learns there are other- and perhaps better- ways of life. The focus on wartime problems seems a bit dated, but the juvenile relationships and the conquest of beat problems are lively and convincingly done, with a vitality enhanced by the Harve Stein illustrations. A clean and very presentable copy in Brodart mylar. Harve Stein (illustrator).
