Pages are lightly tanned with mild foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Mild cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper and paste-down, with a few small nicks and rub marks along text block edge. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping and mild crushing to spine ends. Faint tanning to spine.

Probably the translation of his: Zwischen den Zeiten. Erinnerungen (Berlin, F.A. Herbig, 1938). Preface is datelined London, January, 1939. In the preface he states that he has been living in England since 1923.

Stutterheim war von 1922 bis 1932 England-Korrespondent für das "Berliner Tageblatt". Nach einem kurzen Aufenthalt in Rom war er wieder als Journalist in London tätig. Seine Darstellung Englands weicht wohltuend von der in Nazi-Deutschland auch schon vor Ausbruch des Krieges üblichen antibritischen Propaganda ab. Aus hervorragender Kenntnis des Landes heraus schildert er Land, Leute, gesellschaftliche Institutionen, Erziehungssystem und Staatswesen. - Papier etwas gebräunt.
