Not simply a textual complement to the exhibition but also an unusual combine of art works, this book is much more than just a documentation of an exhibition, it's an exhibition in book form. In spite of its classical design and hardcover binding, it is an artists' book with a truly unusual use of texts and reprints. The book will also feature sections with visual reminders and references for all of the 4th berlin biennial activities including Checkpoint Charley, Gagosian Gallery in Berlin, and the columns presented by the bb4 in Zitty magazine." -- publisher's statement. New. In publisher-issued shrink wrap. Due to large size and weight additional shipping charges will be required for international orders.

Hardcover. Condition: New. *** FREE UPGRADE to Courier/Priority Shipping Upon Request *** - *** IN STOCK AND IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT - Flawless copy, brand new, pristine, never opened -- Text in German, English and Polish. 252 pp. ; 62 ills. -- with a bonus offer--; At first glance, this young Polish artistâs sculptur…es and installations seem to be readymades, but on closer inspection they are three-dimensional trompe l'oeil objects of paper, wood, cardboard and Styrofoam, replicas of everything from communist-era artistsâ studios to full-size train cars, with a specialty in any documents those scenes might require, from newsprint to government paperwork. Kusmirowski works not only in prints, objects and spaces, but also in complex actions--in 2003 he rode a 1920s bicycle from Paris to Leipzig, documented the tour in photographs, antiqued the prints and then exhibited an unusable reproduction of the bicycle with the photographs and his own drawings, yellowed in order to simulate newspaper articles on the various stages of the tour. He explains the roots of this work in communist Poland: "There was nothing in kiosks, and also we lacked money--one had to âorganizeâ toys for oneself." In 2003, he was named Polandâs top emerging artist, and he is represented by Andrew Kreps Gallery in New York. This book documents all of Kusmirowskiâs exhibitions through 2005.

hardcover. Condition: As New. Illustrazioni a colori e in b/n su tavole ripiegate Copertina cartonata, canapa e pelle. Cm 24x20. pp. 144. . Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione di 300 copie (First Edition of 300 copies). . Prima edizione di 300 copie (First Edition of 300 copies). Book.
