    Boards. Published between 1952 and 1954. The original reports, in original printed wraps, custom bound in boards with the title stamped in gilt to the spine and the name of the owner stamped in gilt to the upper board. B&w photographs, b&w plates, line drawings, two folding maps (with one more which is a duplicate), references. Believed to be all the reports published (including an an addendum). Part 1a: General History, by J.M. Bechervaise; Part 1b: Physiography, by R.W. Fairbridge and V.N. Serventy; Part 5: Reptiles and Frogs, by L. Glauert; PPrt 6 Spiders and Opiliones by Barbara York Main; Part 7 Molluscs (Sea Shells and Snails); Part 2 Birds, by V.N. Serventy; Part 3a Land Flora by J.H. Willis; Part 3b Marine Algae by H.B.S. Womersley; Part 4 Mammals by V.N. Serventy. Parts 3a, 3b, and part 4 are then repeated, with a photocopy bound in of a revised account by J.H. Willis of his report on the plants of the archipelago, with "some adjustments" and the inclusion of a list of the plants collected there by the famed botanist Robert Brown in 1802 and 1803. The wraps are lightly worn, with a faint ink stamp in the upper corner. The reports are clean and in very good condition. The set is bound in new cloth, with the gilt-stamped name of a Western Australian botanist. Near-fine thus, and a unique copy. Research into the Recherche Archipelago, off the south coast of Western Australia. In 1950 the Australian Geographic Society visited 20 of the islands. As well as presenting an overview of the archipelago, the researchers closely documented flora, fauna, invertebrates, etc.
