Paperback. Condition: Good. NEW SCIENCE / PHYSICS . . . well worth reading by those who ponder the great questions of life in the cosmos. --Eugene F. Mallove, Ph.D., author of Fire from Ice and former director of the New Energy Research Laboratory Paul LaViolette is among the most advanced scientific minds of our time. His contributions in Decoding the Message of the Pulsars on our populated universe lay a foundation for our future society in space. --Alfred L. Webre, J.D., author of Exopolitics: Politics, Government, and Law in the Universe In 1967, astronomers began receiving and cataloging precisely timed radio pulses from extraterrestrial sources, which they called pulsars. These pulsars emit laserlike radio beams that penetrate through space much like searchlight beams. Paul LaViolette, who has been researching pulsars for over twenty-five years, shows that while these pulsars have long been assumed to be spinning stars, the true nature of these radio sources has been grossly misunderstood. In Decoding the Message of the Pulsars, LaViolette shows that pulsars are distributed in the sky in a nonrandom fashion, often marking key galactic locations, and that their signals are of intelligent origin. Using extensive scientific data to corroborate his theory, he presents evidence of unusual geometric alignments among pulsars and intriguing pulse-period relationships. Equally compelling is the message LaViolette contends is being sent by these extraterrestrial beacons: a warning about a past galactic core explosion disaster that could recur in the near future. PAUL A. LaVIOLETE, Ph.D., is president of the Starburst Foundation, an interdisciplinary research institute, and holds advanced degrees in systems science and physics. The author of Genesis of the Cosmos, Earth Under Fire, and Subquantum Kinetics, he lives in New York.…

Paperback. Condition: VG. Writing on first page. Free of other markings. Very nice clean copy. From the Foreword: Last year, Stella and I -were standing on the porch looking somberly out over the tree-limbed debris left by Hurricane Georges. The hurricane had passed through the evening before, .A shift in the predicted storm path had changed .a complete catastrophe to just a lawn filled with debris . our mind still clung to thoughts of catastrophe. Stella suddenly pointed out towards the water to our east. There, just beyond the end of a neighbor's wooden pier, I saw a long line of about ten American White Pelicans flying impossibly low over the water . It had been fifteen years since Stella and I had last seen those large beautiful birds. That afternoon, the two of us were seeing them once more. As we watched, the black-edged wings of the lead bird began a hard slow beat, raising the bird up from about afoot above the water to about eight or ten feet. There, its wings stopped their beat and remained motionless and the large bird began again a long, drawn-out, controlled gliding fall toward the water. Behind the lead, in an undulating wave, the other birds began their rise and fall in slow, exquisitely graceful ballet step. They are indeed beautiful birds. . If luck will have it in the years to come, Stella and I, together, will see them another time. 180 pages.…
