Il rencontre Magritte, Colinet, Havrenne et Lecomte en 1955, collabore au mouvement Phases d'Edouard Jaguer dès 1956 et rencontre André Breton en 1958. Lacomblez participe à l'Exposition Internationale du Surréalisme « Le Domaine des Enchanteurs » à New York en 1961. En 1958 il crée et anime la revue Edda (5 numéros de 1958 à 1965).
